💷 £2 tickets for Nottingham residents to Drone Show on 5 November
Drone Show: Nottingham City of Legends takes place at Forest Recreation Ground on Thursday 5 November with two shows at 6.30pm and 9pm. Residents pay just £2 (adults) and £1 (children) by using the Resident Discount with their council tax number and postcode. Non-residents pay £10 and £5. The 20-minute show uses 250 synchronised drones to tell Nottingham’s history and legends, with a bespoke soundtrack. Tickets can be booked here!
🎤 Singalong supporters show love for Carlton’s Miles Green
Dozens of people turned up at the One Stop on Gedling Road, Carlton to back local legend Miles Green, who has been singing on the corner since 2015. After a police welfare check left him upset and worried he’d have to stop, neighbours and customers gathered for a singalong to Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”. Miles, 28, says he’s not stopping. His manager Deborah Bradley says he’s “a general all-rounder for the community”. | Source
✅ Connect Nottingham opens as first part of Broad Marsh to launch
Connect Nottingham has launched on Middle Pavement as the first part of the Broad Marsh redevelopment to open. A partnership between the University of Nottingham, Nottingham City Council and Homes England, it brings together Café Connect (a welcoming space to meet researchers and contribute to projects), the Nottingham Urban Room (conversations about the city’s future and the Nottingham Vision), and City as Lab (data and digital tools for place-based research). Visitors can explore the Projection Augmented Relief Model of Nottingham and the Weston Immersive Room. | Source
📚 Nottingham’s new book bar is coming to Bridlesmith Gate
Ink & Ember, a book bar from BookTok entrepreneur Lauren Lovett, is opening at 47 Bridlesmith Gate, with a target of third week of November. It combines an independent bookshop, café and bar serving wine, cocktails and coffee, and you don’t need to buy a book to hang out. The gothic-mansion interior has a whole floor dedicated to romance. Expect book clubs, author signings and adult craft sessions. It’s the company’s second site after Stamford and Peterborough.| Source
