Center Parcs Sherwood Forest have announced the launch of Forest Summer Social, an open-air cinema experience running from May 25 - August 31. The outdoor cinema will show live sporting events including World Cup, Grand Prix, Wimbledon and Commonwealth Games, plus family films like Mamma Mia, Frozen, The Greatest Showman and A Minecraft Movie. You can pre-book deckchairs with popcorn and drinks or bring blankets. The Summer Social Kitchen serves street food, Aspall Bar offers refreshments, while Forest Craft Room, Family Nature Quest and interactive Light up the Forest experience provide activities. Work has finally begun on demolishing Nottingham's former Broadmarsh shopping centre, with asbestos removal preceding phased demolition of the site. The £3.4 million project aims for a 2028 redevelopment start, delivering 1,000 homes, 20,000 square meters of retail/office/community space and 2,000 jobs. Temporary spaces launch mid-2026 around Green Heart and Drury Walk for local businesses and creatives. Meanwhile, The Lister Gate Community Diagnostic Centre NHS facility continues development, providing earlier diagnosis and treatment for Nottingham locals. | Source

Wellness in Mind, an NHS-funded service delivered by Framework, is supporting over 2,000 people yearly with immediate mental health support through face-to-face drop-ins and a helpline operating since December 2024. The service is seeing amazing results, with over 98% of users saying they would recommend the service, 100% of drop-ins and helpline calls offered same-day support and 93% of web referrals supported within five days. The service offers in-person or online support, 1:1 and group sessions, plus volunteer-led befriending. Visit wellnessinmind.org for details.
