🏃♂️ Tinie Tempah surprises volunteers with pre-gig run around city
Rapper Tinie Tempah joined dozens of RockCorps volunteers for a gentle jog around Nottingham ahead of his exclusive Rock City gig at the Talbot Street venue. The 37-year-old chart topper met volunteers in Sneinton who earned concert tickets by giving time to community initiatives, with 2,500 people participating across 22 events over three weeks. The global initiative uses music to inspire local community action, with Nottingham becoming only the second UK city to host RockCorps after London. The Movement UK's run club provided the setting for fans to meet the artist before his performance. | Source
🚲 Wattbike supports Gedling resident's charity triathlon
Nic Rotton from Gedling is completing 30 Olympic-distance triathlons in 30 days to raise £15,000 for Vasculitis UK after being diagnosed with rare autoimmune disease Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis in 2021. The condition initially attacked his kidneys and spleen, returning in 2024 to affect his sinuses and leave him partially deaf. Now in remission but immunocompromised, he'll swim one mile, cycle 25 miles and walk six miles daily around Nottingham, starting and finishing at the City Ground. Meanwhile, Nottingham-based Wattbike has supported preparations by providing performance bike access. You can donate to Nic’s JustGiving page here. | Source

🇯🇲 Yello Yard opens permanent Sneinton Market bakery
Popular street food traders Yello Yard have opened a permanent Jamaican bakery and deli in Sneinton Market, serving sandwiches on coco bread or focaccia filled with jerk pork belly, curry mutton or oxtail chili cheese. Co-founders Mahalia Chambers and Jowayne Marks, who met at Sunday School, started with patties in 2022 aiming to push beyond traditional jerk chicken and rice. The menu includes loaded pots, turmeric-tinted beef and saltfish patties, vegan options, Guinness Punch doughnuts and rum cake. Their bright yellow gazebo has drawn lengthy queues at Ruddington, West Bridgford and Ay-Up Market. Open Wednesday-Saturday 11am-7pm on Avenue C corner with Southwell Road. | Source
