Carl Froch is backing the Save Mapperley Golf Club campaign as Gedling Borough Council proposes 750 homes on the site to meet housing targets. The four-time world champion, who plays there with his son Rocco, called the potential closure "disgusting," noting the club's long history since 1907 with waiting lists still showing strong demand. The club's lease runs until 2030, with no decision yet on renewal. Public consultation closes August 3 - You can join the campaign here if you’d like to object!
