🎶 The Wombats and Snow Patrol to headline Splendour 2026 at Wollaton Hall
The Wombats and Snow Patrol will headline Splendour 2026 at Wollaton Hall on July 18-19, with tickets from £72 already on sale. The Liverpool indie trio tops Saturday's bill while Northern Ireland's Snow Patrol, known for hits like "Chasing Cars," closes Sunday. ⚽️ Forest scrap approved plans in favor of ambitious 45,000-capacity redesign
Nottingham Forest have shelved recently approved plans to redevelop the City Ground in favor of a more ambitious scheme increasing capacity to 45,000. The club has hired KSS Group, the architects behind Anfield's expansion, to create a dramatically larger Peter Taylor Stand with 15,000 seats. The new design would build over the existing structure and fill in Trent End corners, though fresh planning permission is needed after six-and-a-half years securing the previous approval. | Source
💷 Extra £2.5m announced to prevent homelessness in Nottingham
Nottingham will receive an extra £2.5 million from the government to prevent homelessness and support rough sleepers, doubling the Rough Sleeping Prevention Grant to £5.2 million. The funding, announced on World Homeless Day, will support winter preparations including a night shelter, city centre response teams, and specialist housing roles. An additional £127,434 will help families in temporary accommodation with mental health support, digital equipment and travel expenses for children. | Source
💷 Final plans unveiled for £20m Bulwell town centre transformation
Detailed images show how £20 million will transform Bulwell town centre from October 20, with upgraded Bulwell Bogs featuring an expanded splash park, new play equipment and refreshments kiosk. The Levelling Up Fund project includes modernised market stalls, rebuilt bus station toilets and renewed paving across pedestrianised areas. Over 500 residents shaped the plans through 2022 consultation, with work timed to keep the splash park open all summer. | Source
