🆓 Heritage Open Days: Free history and culture across Nottinghamshire

Heritage Open Days - England's largest history and culture festival - has begun! It runs until September 20 across Nottinghamshire. The festival provides free entry to guided tours, exhibitions and creative workshops celebrating local heritage and hidden gems. Whether you're into literature, archaeology, history or local culture, there's almost certainly something for you! Check the link for full programme of events across venues here.

🎭 Five-year arts boost: £200k annually for new events

Great news for Nottingham's creative scene – the city's backing arts and culture in a big way. £153,000 has already gone to 40 groups supporting music, dance, theatre, photography and visual arts events across the city. And it doesn't stop there - over the next five years, £200,000 will be available every year to help develop and commission even more activities. It's a proper investment in rebuilding what was lost, with Councillor David Mellen saying the city is ready to "build back" stronger. Watch this space for new events coming your way. | Source

⚽️ Forest stadium expansion meeting set for September 16

Rushcliffe Borough Council's planning committee meets September 16 at 6pm to discuss Nottingham Forest's stadium expansion applications. The meeting could approve plans to increase City Ground capacity from 35,000 to 50,000+. Planning officers have recommended approval, and all three Nottingham MPs have also backed the development. The applications include redeveloping the Peter Taylor Stand and Trent End, plus outline permission for the Brian Clough Stand. | Source
