🚎 New Ride app brings all Nottingham and Derby transport into one place
A brand new mobile app has launched across Nottingham and Derby, bringing together buses, trams, trains, walking, cycling, car clubs, e-scooters and e-bikes in one place. Ride allows users to plan journeys, buy tickets from all operators, track buses in real-time, and see e-bike battery levels before hiring. The £4 million government-funded project lets people book and pay for all local transport with a single app - Available now on Android and iOS. | Source
💷 £70m national programme brings youth hub to Nottingham
Nottingham is one of just eight pilot areas in England chosen for the government's new Young Futures Hub, bringing together youth workers and specialist professionals to deliver holistic support for young people. The hub will help with wellbeing, education, employment pathways and early intervention, becoming operational by March 2026 alongside Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and four other cities. Part of £70 million national funding to create 50 hubs by 2029, the initiative tackles youth isolation, vulnerability and lack of opportunities. The council is already engaging young people through surveys and workshops to shape the hub's design. | Source
🚲 City secures nearly £4m for active travel after top rating
Nottingham has been ranked among the top eleven local authorities in England for active travel infrastructure by Active Travel England, achieving a rating of 3 out of 80 councils reviewed. The high rating has unlocked almost £4 million in additional funding for cycling projects currently at design stage. Recent achievements include completing the cross-city cycle route to Pennyfoot Street with 50,000 monthly trips, segregated lanes on St Ann's Well Road and Beechdale Road, and the upcoming Waterside Bridge opening in spring 2026. New schemes on Gregory Boulevard and Beck Street start in 2026, with higher ratings making councils eligible for more government funding. | Source
