⚡️ From coal to fusion - Notts leads the charge into the energy future
The site where West Burton A power station got blown up last November is about to become home to something pretty incredible - the world's first nuclear fusion plant. This £2.5 billion STEP project will recreate the same process that powers the sun, right here in Nottinghamshire. We're talking 10,000 jobs from construction through to operations, plus local students getting fast-tracked into the training programs. As one MP put it, this will "completely turn the area around" - not bad for a county that just said goodbye to coal! | Source
🤝 Nottingham’s property development future to be discussed at networking launch in July
Got a vested interest when it comes to Nottingham's built environment? Then you'll want to bag a spot at this networking lunch on Thursday 17 July at Cosy Club. The big topics? Broad Marsh and Island Quarter developments, plus whether the future's all about out-of-town sprawl or if we're finally going to embrace proper city centre living. They'll also be diving into how good design can actually transform our streets to make them better. Welcome drink and two-course lunch included! | Source

🇻🇳 Fresh faces and Vietnamese flavours - new cafe opening in town
The old Redgate student accommodation office on Carrington Street is getting a serious Vietnamese makeover. Càphinique is promising to transport you straight to Hanoi with proper cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese iced coffee), that famous egg coffee, and some seriously good pho and banh mi. Owner Anna Vu reckons they'll be open sometime in July, and judging by their website's promise of "coffee that's strong, tea that's vibrant, and food that's soulful," this could be exactly what the city centre needs. | More Info
🍸 Lost Property becomes Lost Again after outgrowing its Hockley hideaway
Remember Lost Property, that brilliant hidden bar down the alley in Hockley that even Kiefer Sutherland popped into? Well, it got so popular they've had to up sticks and become Lost Again in the old Market Bar spot on Goose Gate. Same quirky vibe with vintage suitcases in the window, disco balls, and a photo booth disguised as a filing cabinet, but now with proper space to dance and a licence until 4am. Co-owner Dan Brown says nine years of success meant they needed room to breathe - plus the ground floor's getting done up for even more space by August. Two cocktails for £12 before 8pm? Yes please! | More Info
