🎯 Flight Club eyes former Flannels building for virtual darts bar
Bridlesmith Gate's regeneration could get another major boost as national chain Flight Club eyes the former Flannels building for a virtual darts bar. The venue, which allows groups of up to 12 to book tables for games and cocktails, has submitted a planning application to the city council. Since launching in London in 2015, Flight Club has expanded to Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and the US, offering freshly made pizzas, burgers and sharing dishes alongside the darts. Red Engine, which operates Flight Club, hopes to confirm 2026 plans closer to the new year. | Source
🌉 Historic moment as Waterside Bridge lifted into place
Crowds gathered on Monday as Nottingham's first river crossing since the 1950s was lifted into place by a huge crane. The 85-meter Waterside Bridge will link Trent Basin and Lady Bay when it opens in spring 2026, with ramps, steps and walkways still to be installed. Originally planned for 2023, the £18 million government-funded project was hit by various delays before construction finally began this year. Cycling campaigners who've pushed for the bridge for 30 years say it will make a "magical difference" to networks. | Source
⭐️ Forever Stars receives King's Award for baby loss charity work
Nottingham charity Forever Stars has received the King's Award for Voluntary Service, the highest accolade for UK volunteer groups and equivalent to an MBE. Founded by Richard and Michelle Daniels in 2014 after their daughter Emily was stillborn, the all-volunteer charity has raised over £800,000 to support bereaved families across the East Midlands. Projects include Serenity Suites at QMC and City Hospital, 50+ wellbeing workshops in 2024, and a men's support group. Representatives received the award from the Lord Lieutenant, with two volunteers attending a Buckingham Palace garden party next year. | Source
