⚽️ Jake Bugg becomes shirt sponsor for local youth football sides

Jake Bugg has become shirt sponsor for two Clifton All Whites FC youth teams after his cousins asked if he'd get involved. The Lightning Bolt singer, who grew up in Clifton and once played for rival Southchurch Colts, is funding home and away kits for the under-10s and under-12s squads. Bugg says it was a "no-brainer" to support grassroots football, which was huge for him growing up. For the club, the sponsorship is a massive help covering pitch fees and equipment costs without passing expenses to parents. | Source

⚽️ Ange Postecoglou sacked by Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have sacked Ange Postecoglou just 39 days into his tenure following a disastrous 3-0 home loss to Chelsea. The announcement came within 20 minutes of the final whistle, with the manager already gone from the City Ground. Postecoglou failed to win any of his eight games in charge, losing six and drawing two, facing "sacked in the morning" chants from his own fans. | Source

🚗 Hand-built soapbox racers coming to city centre

Nottingham's getting its own soapbox racing event on May 10, 2026, when hand-built karts zoom from the Brian Clough statue down to Old Market Square. Teams of five build their own vehicles and compete for prizes in speed, originality and team spirit categories, with winners crowned on the Council House balcony. Organiser Andrew Pearson says while some take it seriously, he loves the "wackier" entrants, with eight different prize cups including best turned-out cart and best-dressed team. Entry is free for spectators, with team fees going to Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. | Source

🥞 Fluffy Fluffy Pancakes opens on Victoria Street

Fluffy Fluffy Pancakes opened yesterday at 9 Victoria Street, bringing the famous Japanese soufflé pancake experience to Nottingham for the first time! The 18th global site for the brand features an open-kitchen concept where you can watch every pancake whipped to perfection. With over 35 seats, expect signature flavours like Nutella Strawberry and Tiramisu alongside sandos, savoury brunch and, of course, matcha. Check out more on their website!
