🏆 Broad Marsh redevelopment wins regional property award
The Broad Marsh regeneration project has picked up the Future Ambition Category Award at the East Midlands Property Awards. The site, sold to Homes England in March, will deliver around 1,000 homes, 20,000 square metres of retail and office space, and 2,000 jobs. Judges recognised progress including the new Nottingham College hub, Central Library, bus station, and the Green Heart completed last year. | Source
🏍️ Stolen motorbike traveller gets replacement to continue world trip
Viral Indian content creator Yogesh Alekari has resumed his round-the-world journey after Mansfield's Off Road Bike Centre gifted him a replacement motorbike. The 33-year-old had his original bike stolen from Wollaton Park in last month, halfway through his epic trip that started in April and had already taken him through 17 countries. He now plans to continue through 32 more countries to finally reach Cape Town, South Africa. | Source
📍 Political divide over location for fourth Trent bridge
Nottinghamshire councillors are divided over where to build a fourth road bridge across the River Trent, with competing proposals for Colwick and Bassetlaw locations. Conservative councillor Mike Adams has secured funding for a Colwick study, arguing it would connect Gedling to major transport links and benefit the whole county. However, Reform councillor Mike Robertson advocates for a northern crossing near Gainsborough, citing limited infrastructure in the area where one bridge serves an 18-mile radius. A comprehensive study will assess all options with updates expected later this year. | Source
