💷 Old Market Square getting £4m "Central Park" transformation
£4 million has been identified for a first-phase transformation of Old Market Square into a greener "Central Park" while keeping its open character for major events. Funding includes £2.5 million from EMCCA and Pride in Place funding. Fountains out of use since June 2022 are planned for replacement. Plans also include enforcement against anti-social behaviour and crime and Broad Marsh redevelopment continuing. | Source
🦌 Local breweries unite to feed Wollaton Park's drought-hit deer
Blue Monkey, Castle Rock, Shipstones and Lincoln Green breweries have stepped up to feed Wollaton Park's 200-strong deer herd by donating spent grain – a byproduct from the brewing process - as extreme drought leaves grazing depleted. The grain provides digestible protein and fibre, and offers a sustainable solution for breweries getting rid of the waste. Volunteer ranger Colin Robbins says the deer were initially hesitant but soon came round to it. | Source
🕰️ Emett Clock returning to Victoria Centre's original home
The Emett Clock is returning to its original location in Victoria Centre's main foyer after being upstairs since 2015. Retired engineer Pete Dexter is meticulously restoring the 23-foot water clock – breaking it into thousands of parts and checking each one – a process expected to take six months. Installed in 1973, it's raised over £300,000 for charity through coins dropped in its water pool. Designed by cartoonist Rowland Emett (who created Chitty Chitty Bang Bang contraptions), it opens and moves every 15 minutes. | Source

Quick one before you go - I wanted to take a second to introduce myself. I’m Luke, and I’ve been writing Nottingham Buzz for the past 70-odd weeks because my family and I genuinely love this city and wanted to make it as easy as possible for people to stay in the loop with all the great things going on. Glad you’re here! This newsletter is for you, so if you ever have any thoughts, feedback, events you’d like featuring or just want to chat, hit reply and let me know!
That’s all for this week - See you next Sunday at 7.
