💷 Games Workshop hits record £6bn valuation

Warhammer maker Games Workshop reached a record £6.1 billion valuation after announcing profits of at least £135 million for the six months to November 30. The Lenton firm's stock price climbed to an all-time high of £18,880 on November 21, doubling from £9,900 five years ago. Revenue hit £310 million, up from £269.4 million last year, driven by sales of plastic miniatures and related ventures. The global demand for models is outstripping production at the three Willow Road factories, where 350+ staff work around the clock making millions of figures annually. | Source

🎶 Musicians record unique pieces inside Ratcliffe cooling towers

Nottingham and Sheffield university musicians have recorded two unique compositions inside Ratcliffe-on-Soar's cooling towers before decommissioning, documenting the exceptional acoustics of the nearly 60-year-old landmark. Bass clarinet specialist Dr Sarah Watts composed "It's All I've Known" while Professor Elizabeth Kelly created "Cooling Cathedral" to explore the cathedral-like resonance of the industrial space. The pieces are dedicated to past and present workers and surrounding communities who've lived with the eight towers on the skyline. Videos are now available on University of Nottingham's YouTube channel.
