📞 Disused Hockley phone box transformed into support hub for rough sleepers

A disused phone box in Hockley has been transformed into a support hub for rough sleepers, officially opened by Framework and It's in Nottingham. The "hope box" features a map showing locations of street kitchens, clothing essentials, harm reduction and wellbeing services, adorned with artwork created by Nottingham Recovery Network service users and Grove House residents. The freephone number (0800 066 5356) for reporting rough sleepers to the Street Outreach Team is displayed, alongside QR code donation campaigns starting with birth certificate funding. | Source

⚽️ Lionesses to face Iceland at City Ground in World Cup qualifier

England will host Iceland at Nottingham Forest's City Ground on March 7 in their first home qualifier for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil. The Lionesses face Ukraine away on March 3 before the City Ground clash, with head coach Sarina Wiegman calling Iceland "a well-organized, competitive side" and "a great test" at the start of the qualifying journey. England are in Group A3 alongside Iceland, Ukraine and Spain, with the winner automatically qualifying and second/third place entering play-offs. The team aims to go further than 2023's final defeat to Spain, having recently defended their European Championship crown by beating Spain on penalties in 2025. | Source

💥 NCP car park and Bluecoat college site set for demolition

Plans to demolish the NCP multi-storey car park and former Bluecoat sixth form college on Maid Marian Way have been submitted as Broad Marsh redevelopment continues. Homes England bought the sites in March 2025, clearing the way for Maid Marian Way's realignment to provide four lanes. The car park's upper levels will likely be removed while keeping the road open, but the lower section requires temporary closure. Homes England takes control in September though no demolition timescales are confirmed. The wider Broad Marsh vision includes over 1,000 homes and 20,000 square meters of retail, office and community space, following the Green Heart park opening in October 2024. | Source
