💪 Over-67s get free Active Nottingham membership from November 5
Nottingham City Council is launching Active Older Lives, offering free membership to city residents aged 67 and over from 5 November 2026. Access covers swimming, gyms, fitness classes and health suites at all six Active Nottingham leisure centres! Proof of age and Nottingham residency required. The programme runs until 31 March 2028, and residents can join any time. Older residents will also get chances to help shape the wider programme. Info and booking at activenottingham.com from 5 November.
👕 Pre-loved school uniform from just 50p across Nottingham
Nottingham families can now save on school uniform through a council-funded scheme with Cress. Schools are setting up online uniform shops selling pre-loved clothing from 50p, with free items for eligible households. All 113 schools in the city can take part, potentially supporting 43,000+ children. Schools keep the proceeds from sales, so it helps them raise funds too! Parents should check with their child's school for the shop link, or visit wearecress.com.
✅ Harvey Hadden Stadium gets £2m track and stand revamp
Nottingham City Council is proposing a £2.08m overhaul of the Harvey Hadden Stadium in Bilborough. The plans include a new athletics track, a refurbished main stand (closed over health and safety concerns), improved drainage, upgraded lighting and new CCTV. The city's executive board meets Tuesday to approve it. Credit to Notts Athletics runners Lucy and Sofia, who raised over £4,000 by getting teammates to run 62 miles (100km) together! Coaches say it's "fantastic but long overdue." | Source
