A former student at Arnold Hill in Nottingham, Professor Richard Thompson is now world-renowned for his work on plastic pollution. Known as “the godfather of microplastics”, Professor Thompson’s pioneering studies have shaped international conversations on marine health and earned him a spot on TIME’s Top 100 list. 🏊‍♂️ Victoria Embankment Paddling Pool Set to Reopen on May 23rd

Get your towels ready! After three years of being out of action and a £750k glow-up, the much-loved Victoria Embankment paddling pool is officially reopening on May 23. Nottingham City Council teased the big return with a video showing the fountains bubbling away during a recent test run, so it seems the pool will be open just in time for the Bank Holiday weekend! | Source

📸 Photographer Tracey Whitefoot Showcases Nottinghamshire in New Exhibition

Local photographer Tracey Whitefoot is launching a new exhibition at Nottingham Central Library, featuring 65 stunning images of Nottinghamshire landscapes taken over two decades. The exhibition runs from May 24 through November and is free to visit. Two of Tracey’s best-known images will be shown at almost 4 metres wide, and she’ll be present at the opening on May 24 to chat with visitors. | Source
