⚽️ Nottingham bids to host 2035 Women's World Cup

Nottingham is bidding to host the 2035 FIFA Women's World Cup, with plans to stage seven matches if selected as one of 14-16 UK host cities. The bid hinges entirely on Nottingham Forest completing the City Ground redevelopment to increase capacity to 35,000. Council leader Neghat Khan says hosting could bring over £20m in economic benefit and inspire the next generation of Lionesses. The council must sign FIFA's host city agreement by October 31, with FIFA making the final decision by April 2026. | Source

❄️ Winter Wonderland 2025 prices announced for skating and attractions

Winter Wonderland opens November 13 with online booking now live for attractions! Big wheel rides (15 minutes) cost £8.50 for adults, £5.50 for children/OAPs. Sky Skate sessions (75 minutes, skates included) range from £10-£18 depending on age and peak times, with 10% off for booking the night before. The Ice Bar returns with a new theme, offering 45-minute sessions with free drinks and warm clothing from £9.50-£19.50. The festive extravaganza runs daily until New Year's Eve - you can read more and make your booking on their website.

🚲 £1.3m boost for Gregory Boulevard cycling and walking routes

Nottingham could get £1.3 million from the East Midlands Combined County Authority to upgrade walking and cycling routes along Gregory Boulevard between Mansfield Road and Noel Street. The scheme includes new crossings, resurfaced paths and road improvements, connecting schools, parks and communities as part of a wider network. A public consultation will take place before final designs are drawn up, with the work timed to coincide with the £2.6m Forest Sports Zone upgrade to reduce disruption. | Source
